Philippe was selected in the 5th round (76th overall) in the 2007 QMJHL Entry draft and was expected to provide depth for the future. However, the future is now for the 17 year-old as he had a strong training camp and has had a very good first season in the “Q”. Philippe like his team mate Olivier Roy represented Quebec at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in London, Ont.He scored his first goal as a Screaming Eagle in just his fourth game on Sept.23rd in Bathurst.
