8 Robert Slaney Left Wing
- Height: 6'02"
- Weight: 194 lbs
- Shoots: Left
- Born: Oct 13, 1988 — Carbonear, NL
- Acquired: 2005 QMJHL Draft Round 6 (107th)
Robert played his midget hockey in his native Newfoundland with Tri-Pen before lining up with the Screaming Eagles in 2005. He was team mate of Chris Culligan and James Sheppard on the bronze medal winning Team Atlantic at the Under-17 World Hockey Challenge. Slaney is another of the Screaming Eagles late round draft picks who have made great strides and the 19 year-old is considered one of the top power forwards in the league. A soccer aficianado, Robert lists Manchester United of the English Premier League as his favorite team. As a country music fan, he would be happy on a camping trip listening to Kenny Chesney with the “The Boys”.
