Eagles Double Rocket
Chris Culligan became the team's all-time points leader as the Screaming Eagles defeated the P.E.I. Rocket 4-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Charlottetown Civic Centre.
The Howie Centre native picked up two assists in the game giving him 259 points so far in his career. That’s now one better than his former team mate and good friend Dean Ouellet who finished his four-year career with 258 points.
Culligan tied the mark, assisting on Robert Slaney’s power play goal early in the second period.
He set the record with an assist on newcomer Michael Ward’s power play goal at the 12:40 mark of the third period. Ward was acquired in a recent trade from Lewiston and had a strong game in the win with a goal and two assists.
Besides Slaney and Ward, Joey Haddad added a pair of goals for the Screaming Eagles who avenged a disappointing 7-4 loss to the Rocket on Saturday night.
Olivier Roy stopped 35 of 37 shots for his 20th win of the season.
The win moved the Screaming Eagles record to 26-12-1-1. They now head home to face Acadie-Bathurst on Tuesday night at Centre 200. Game time is 7:00 pm.
