Stinziani Earns CHL Honours
The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Michael Stinziani of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles is the CHL Player of the Week after scoring two goals and four assists for six points in three games last week.
Stinziani started the week with a goal and an assist in a 6-3 win over Val dβOr on Thursday. He added a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over Halifax on Saturday and finished the week with two assists in a 5-2 win against Saint John on Sunday.
The 19-year-old from Lorraine, Quebec, is tied for fourth in the QMJHL scoring race with three goals and five assists for eight points in five games this season.
Matt Lyall of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds was the OHL nominee after scoring three goals and six points in two games and Jordan Weal of the Regina Pats was the WHL nominee after scoring a goal and four assists for five points in two games.
