Q & A with Zach Beaton:

Q1: Tell us about your Minor Hockey career.

A1: I played my Minor Hockey with the Pownal Red Devils. In my second year Atom, Peewee and Bantam we won the Island championships.

Q2: Where did you play your Midget hockey?

A2: I played my Midget hockey with the Cornwall Superior Thunder of the New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Major Midget Hockey League. In my second year, we won the Island championship.

Q3: You were drafted by the Screaming Eagles at the 2012 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft in round 12, 204th overall. Tell us your thoughts on being drafted by Cape Breton.

A3: I was excited to be drafted by Cape Breton. I heard it was an awesome city to play in and a great organization.

Q4: This season, you have played between the Screaming Eagles and the Maritime Junior Hockey League's Summerside Western Capitals. Tell us your thoughts after 15 games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

A4: it is a fun league to play in and if I get the chance I am ready to play. I think it is really cool to play in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, because I grew up watching and dreaming about playing in the league.

Q5: What do you think you bring to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles roster?

A5: I believe I bring a hard work ethic and a desire to play. I am playing a more grinding role, but I believe I play more of a power forward style.

Q6: What are some goals you have for the second half of the season?

A6: My goal for the second half of the season is to play  more of a power forward role and work hard to earn more ice time as well as get a few points.

Q7: You were born in Stratford, PE. Tell us about your hometown.

A7: Stratford, PEI has a population of 7,000 people. It is the third largest municipality in Prince Edward Island. It is a quiet place, not much to do there other then play hockey.

Q8: Tell us some interesting facts about your family.

A8: My mother, Patricia is a RCW. My dad, Doug is a Mechanical Engineer. My sister, Alyssa is a student. She spent seven months last year in Australia.

Q9: Who is the one person you would like to thank for getting you where you are today with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles? Why?

A9: My dad for sure. He drove me to the rink my whole life and has made a lot of sacrifices in order for me to do everything that I have done within hockey. He has never once complained and always believes in me.

Q10: What is one thing you like about Cape Breton? Why?

A10: My Billits Loiuse and Cavel are awesome and I really like the team.
