Sydney- The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles open their season this Friday, September 21st at 7pm versus the Halifax Mooseheads.  

The Screaming Eagles will honor Blair Joseph in a pre-game ceremony.  Joseph has coached various teams in the community over the past 40 years and has been involved with the Screaming Eagles Organization for the past 11 years.  

Also featured in Friday’s game are contestants from Cape Breton’s Next Big Thing.  Performing pre-game at centre ice is Kyle Mischiek singing his hit song “We are an Island Remix” featuring Trax Cordero and Taylor Burton.  Performing the National Anthem are contestants Jonathan MacInnis and Lena Murphy.  

Friday’s game is the launch of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles new 2012-2013 Fan T-shirt.  The “Protect This Nest” t-shirts will be sold starting at 6pm in the Main Concourse and cost $10.00 each.  T-shirts can be purchased with cash only.  

Friday’s Home Opener will mark the first of 8 meetings between the Screaming Eagles and the Mooseheads this season.  Tickets can be purchased from the Centre 200 Box Office or online at tickets.capebreton.ca .
